Due to the inability to meet quorum requirements in person, the Corona Recovery Loan Committee for South Central Planning & Development Commission, Inc., will meet on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 3:00 pm via video conference call (info on website) in direct response to Governor Edward’s proclamation (JBE‐2020‐27 Section 5) allowing softened open meeting considerations amidst the declared COVID 19/Corona “Stay Home Order and Business Closures”. Anyone requiring reasonable accommodation is requested to contact South Central Planning & Development Commission, Inc. three days in advance of the meeting at (985) 851‐2900 to discuss the particular accommodations needed and insure no more than ten (10) people attend.  If a member of the public would like to issue public comment on any agenda item, please do one of the following:

PUBLIC NOTICE: LEGAL SPECIALIST POSITION

South Central Planning &
Development Commission is accepting resumes for the position of  Legal
Specialist to perform paralegal, collections and loan compliance tasks. This
individual will also assist in grant writing, research of businesses and
related technical assistance to small businesses. This position involves
professional-level duties and judgment, good communication skills, good
computer skills, routine administrative tasks, occasional field work, works
well with the public, and coordinates well with office personnel. 
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software ( specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
and Access) a plus.  Experience should include government, lending,
paralegal and/or related fields.  The position is an hourly employee with
permanent status.  The individual should possess a high school diploma as
a minimum and have 5 years’ minimum similar work experience, or possess an
Associate’s Degree from and accredited University.    Salary
will be approximately $17-$24 an hour depending on experience.

South Central Planning &
Development Commission is seeking a Part-Time, Temporary, Bi-Lingual Intake
Assistant.  This position requires an individual that speaks both
Vietnamese and English.  The position involves clerical-level duties and
judgment, good communication skills, good computer skills, routine
administrative tasks, and works well with the public and office
personnel.  The individual will mainly be assisting with applications for
financial assistance; therefore they must be familiar with tax
documentation.  The position is an hourly position with temporary
status.  The individual should possess a high school diploma at a
minimum.  Salary will be approximately $12.50 – $22.50 an hour depending
on experience.
