The SCPDC Technology department is made up of two divisions: Information Technology Support and My Government Online (MGO) software and services.

 

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT

The information technology support provides information technology support services to the internal users of South Central Planning. The main responsibilities of the IT support team are to monitor and maintain the computer systems of the commission. The team works with SCPDC staff across all departments to resolve their technical issues. Regular job duties include:

  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with software and hardware
  • Installing new solutions or applications
  • Configuring workstation, server and network systems
  • Establish and manage accounts for new users
  • Carry out security duties as defined by the agency Cyber Security Plan

 

MY GOVERNMENT ONLINE (MGO)

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, SCPDC’s member jurisdictions regionalized the permit process. This regionalization led SCPDC to create an automated suite of software applications called My Government Online (MGO). Our member parishes were so pleased with the results of the software that they passed a resolution authorizing us to create a national software Partnership Program that fellow jurisdictions can join. This unique partnership program has provided a way for jurisdictions in many states to achieve their evolving goals at a low monthly cost with no upfront fees. By jurisdictions working together through this partnership program, we have created software that has won many national and global awards including Amazon’s City on a Cloud Innovation Challenge and AT&T’s Technology Innovation Award.

MGO is a framework that contain thousands of features and customization options.  This functionality spans:

  • CMMS – Maintenance tracking, alerts and logging history
  • Assets – Location of Fixed, Moveable and Materials (Inventory)
  • Project Management – Procedure Facilitation, Performance and Management Model
  • Work Order – Assign work to be done and the tracking of costs with labor time, equipment and materials/inventory. Billing and Invoicing
  • Document Management (DMS)- Public and internal submittal of documents/data, versioning, history and routing
  • Unlimited custom report and dashboard services that can deliver real time KPI data is provided at no additional cost.  Additionally, MGO hosts a support team dedicated to provided support for all modules at no cost through phone or e-mail

PERMITS AND LICENSING

This module allows you to do anything you’d normally do in-person at your local permitting office. Apply for permits, pay online, request inspections, submit files, download inspection reports and approved plans, check permit status, download permit data, search for permits, and manage contractor and business licenses

SOLUTION CENTER / CODE ENFORCEMENT

Report tall grass, highway damage, and abandoned vehicles. Track the status of the reported problem and resolution by the responsible agency

CALL CENTER / 311

Ability for the public to submit any issue to the jurisdiction through a website or mobile app.  Service requests can be Public Records Requests, or other traditional public work types requests such as road repair.  These requests can be routed to a call center or logged directly by the call center over the phone.  Additionally, each service request can be configured to route through the call center or route directly to the department responsible for service

PUBLIC WORKS

Custom modules for all divisions that allow for field inspections, asset tracking and many other customized features for things such as septic tracking, waste water, grease interceptors and more.  Full Time, Materials and Labor cost tracking.  Map based issue creation and reporting

GPS AND ASSET TRACKING

Ability to track any asset on a map, GPS and RFID tracking, work orders on the asset

FACILITIES

Ability to track different facilities, set automated service alerts, track work orders on maintenance and repair items

FLEET MAINTENANCE

Service Request, Inventory Management, Automated Service Alerts and Billing.  Integrated with GPS for automated odometer and engine hour alerts.  Shows vehicle complete service history

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

Adjudicated Property Tracking, other special property tracking such as “Lot Next Door” or other types of special property programs

GRANTS / COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Track grant information and drawdowns along with all inspections.  Popular to use for housing condemnation programs and CDBG

GIS, financial, and other third-party software integration available.
