South Central Planning & Development Commission is accepting resumes for a Site Plans Analyst at its Baton Rouge location to perform civil plan review & site review related to landscaping, drainage, sewer and traffic proposed projects, in order to ensure compliance with city-parish codes and ordinances. This position requires working with landscape architects, architects, engineers and developers in granting civil and landscaping permits. They will also work in conjunction with permitting, planning and plans examiner staff as part of the compliance review process. Minimum qualifications for an Analyst II are a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years’ experience in a related field. Knowledge and familiarity with grading, drainage, site construction and landscape design/installation are required. Louisiana licensed Landscape Architect preferred. This is a full-time, salaried position with permanent status and fringe benefits. Starting salary is approximately $65,000 – $85,000 annually depending on experience. South Central Planning & Development Commission is accepting resumes for both Part-Time Bi-Lingual Intake Assistants and Technicians to assist with multiple programs throughout Louisiana. The Intake Assistant and Technician’s main duty is to provide language assistance, mainly Spanish & Vietnamese, related to a Fisheries Assistance Grant Program.  Assistance includes, but is not limited to providing information related to the program, assist applicants with filling out applications, and attending town meetings related to promoting the grant program. Other duties may include assisting with intake work for its Recovery Small Business Loan Programs, which includes collecting, evaluating, and packaging business documentation such as taxes, financials and evidence of storm damage to meet program requirements. The individual(s) should possess a high school diploma or equivalent and be fluent in English and either Spanish or Vietnamese. These are hourly positions with starting pay at approximately $14.75 – $25.00 an hour depending on experience. Resumes will be accepted until positions are filled.

The Intake Assistant’s & Technician’s main duty is to assist applicants with the application process for its Recovery Small Business Loan Programs. Assistance includes collecting, evaluating, and packaging business documentation such as taxes, financials and evidence of storm damage to meet program requirements.  These positions involve assistance in professional-level duties, and requires good communication and computer skills.  These positions also require routine administrative tasks, occasional field work, and the ability to work well with the public and fellow co-workers. The individual(s) should possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have similar work experience.  These are hourly positions with starting pay at approximately $13.50 – $22.50 an hour depending on experience. South Central Planning & Development Commission is accepting resumes for a Permit Technician/Specialist at its Baton Rouge location. The main responsibility   of this position is to provide top-quality customer service and various duties   related to the permitting process. Duties include, but are not limited to accepting & reviewing permit applications, assessing permitting fees, researching public record requests, scheduling inspections, as well as providing coordination related to the permitting process for inspection & plan review staff members. These positions involve professional-level services and judgment, good communication skills, good computer skills, routine administrative tasks, works well with the public, and coordinates well with office   personnel.  Knowledge of   the   East   Baton Rouge Parish’s permitting process and experience related to permitting preferred. Certification as a Permit Technician and/or prior parish, municipal or regional experience  is a  plus.  The individual should possess a high school diploma as a minimum and have 5 years’ minimum similar work experience, or possess an Associate’s Degree from an accredited University.  This is a full-time, hourly positions with permanent status and fringe benefits. Starting pay will be approximately $17.68 – $24.15 an hour depending on experience.  Benefits include retirement, health/dental/vision/life insurance, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave.   SCPDC is an EOE/AAE
