Public Notice: Request for Qualifications – Region 6 Watershed Plan (DEADLINE EXTENDED TO APRIL 22, 2024)
Notice is hereby given that the South Central Planning and Development Commission is requesting qualification statements for the following project.
Region 6 Watershed Plan
An outline of the desired scope of work is available at the bottom of this post. All interested firms are invited to submit their qualifications for undertaking the above study. This project and SCPDC Notice to Proceed are predicated upon federal funding authorization.
Interested firms shall furnish sufficient technical and supervisory personnel to ensure expeditious completion of the work. Firms with demonstrated experience, competence, and qualifications pertinent to the above project are being sought. Socially and economically disadvantaged firms are encouraged to submit qualifications for undertaking the above-mentioned work.
Submit your qualifications on flash drive as a single PDF file (one copy) along with four hard (paper) copies of the completed forms. Experience, both firm and individual; past performance on Commission projects; current workload; approach and methodology; and firm size will be the significant evaluation factors which will be used in selecting a firm for the above study. Failure to submit all of the information required for the prime and each sub-consultant, will constitute a non-response. Letters of interest and qualification statements are to be identified by Project Title and Project Number and are to be submitted prior to the deadline on Monday, April 15, 2024 as follows: Deadline extended to April 22, 2024.

Public Notice: Employment Opportunity – Planner I
South Central Planning & Development Commission is seeking a Regional Safety Planner to collaborate with Federal, State, Regional and Local stakeholders in the development, implementation and evaluation of Louisiana’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP). Responsibilities include, but not limited to, planning & conducting regional safety coalition meetings, manage social media communications, and attending conferences related to SHSP. This position is also responsible for coordinating public transportation safety outreach efforts, such as public awareness campaigns, training sessions, community events, and educational presentations. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, have the ability to work effectively with local, state, and federal officials, interest groups, and the general public. This position will require public speaking, as well as some travel, and occasional attendance of night & weekend meetings or events. Minimum qualifications should include a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Mass Communication, Business, or a related field. The ideal candidate would have experience in project management, data analysis, and/or community engagements. Prior knowledge of highway safety principles & initiatives a plus. Salary range: $43,400 – $50,000 to be commensurate with experience and education. SCPDC is an EOE/AAE.

Public Notice: Safety Action Plan Round 2 Survey
Following the valuable insights we gained from the first round of public input, we are excited to announce the next phase in developing the Houma-Thibodaux MPO’s Safety Action Plan. Your participation has been instrumental, and we invite you to continue this journey with us.
The initial survey helped us identify key areas of concern regarding transportation safety for motorists, bicyclists, pedestrians, and transit riders. As we move forward, your feedback is crucial to honing our strategies and identifying specific countermeasures to address these challenges.
Please take five minutes to complete our online survey and share your transportation safety priorities with us. Your input will play a vital role in shaping the strategies to reduce fatalities and serious injuries in our community. This effort is part of the SS4A Safety Action Plan, generously funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration.
