Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy

The Economic Development Administration (EDA) has designed the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) as a vehicle for bringing together public and private sectors to create an economic roadmap for fostering diversity to strengthen regional economies. The CEDS analysis lends itself to establishing goals and objectives for the regional economy and identifying investment priorities and possible funding sources to aid implementation. The regional CEDS is thus the product of a continuous process of strategic economic development planning.

SCPDC receives an annual grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) to provide economic development technical and planning assistance to parish and municipalities in the District. Each year the Commission prepares an update to its Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) (OEDP). The Plan is an excellent source of information on the South Central Region. The Plan sets forth goals and objectives to obtain a diversified and healthy regional economy.
