Economic Development

The SCPDC’s Economic Development Department works with organizations such as US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Delta Regional Authority (DRA’s) as well as with municipalities, Parishes and community groups to provide assistance for disaster recovery, business financing and entrepreneurial training to small businesses in Louisiana.

Delta Regional Authority (DRA).

SCPDC is a Strategic Program Partner of the DRA. As the Local Development District for our Parishes, our staff of Certified Program Coordinators are the front-line project managers assisting with DRA investments that support job creation and community development. Contact Pat Gordon at timb@scpdc.org for more information.

Economic Development Administration (EDA)

SCPDC receives an annual grant from the EDA to provide economic development technical and planning assistance to parish and municipalities in the District. Contact Pat Gordon at pat@scpdc.org for more information.

Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS)

Each year the Commission prepares an update to its Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) (OEDP). The Plan is an excellent source of information on the South Central Region. The Plan sets forth goals and objectives to obtain a diversified and healthy regional economy. Please contact Tim Bourcier at timb@scpdc.org for more information regarding the CEDS.

Resiliency (REDRM)

SCPDC’s Regional Economic Development Resiliency Management program facilitates the development and implementation of economic recovery strategies and projects, in both pre and post-disaster environments with an emphasis on the business community and health crisis.
