Job Opening: Permit Technician or Specialist
South Central Planning & Development Commission is accepting resumes for a Permit Technician/Specialist at its Baton Rouge location. The main responsibility of this position is to provide top-quality customer service and various duties related to the permitting process. Duties include, but are not limited to accepting & reviewing permit applications, assessing permitting fees, researching public record requests, scheduling inspections, as well as providing coordination related to the permitting process for inspection & plan review staff members. These positions involve professional-level services and judgment, good communication skills, good computer skills, routine administrative tasks, works well with the public, and coordinates well with office personnel. Knowledge of the East Baton Rouge Parish’s permitting process and experience related to permitting preferred. Certification as a Permit Technician and/or prior parish, municipal or regional experience is a plus. The individual should possess a high school diploma as a minimum and have 5 years’ minimum similar work experience, or possess an Associate’s Degree from an accredited University. This is a full-time, hourly positions with permanent status and fringe benefits. Starting pay will be approximately $17.68 – $24.15 an hour depending on experience. Benefits include retirement, health/dental/vision/life insurance, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave. SCPDC is an EOE/AAE

Job Opening: Administrative & Accounting Technician
South Central Planning & Development Commission is seeking an Administrative & Accounting Technician. The Admin & Accounting Technician’s main duty is to handle agency travel, which includes, making all travel arrangements (flights/hotels/rentals) as well as reviewing & verifying expense reimbursement request meet agency policy. Other responsibilities include, but is not limited to, data entry, balancing various spreadsheets & statements, and running errands. The individual should possess a high school diploma and have 2 years’ minimum similar work experience. They must also possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. The ideal candidate would be proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word). This is a full-time, hourly position with permanent status and fringe benefits. Starting pay will be approximately $15.60 – $20.00 an hour depending on experience. Benefits include health/dental/vision/life insurance, retirement, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave. Job Opening: IT Technician or IT Specialist
South Central Planning & Development Commission is accepting resumes for a full-time IT Technician or Specialist. The main duty for this position is to perform general technology troubleshooting and provide support related to our company’s hardware. This position will be required to provide onsite support at various agency locations throughout South Louisiana. The IT Technician or Specialist will participate in producing & managing purchase request related to technological needs of agency staff members. This position will also participate in managing, monitoring and tracking all agency equipment through an inventory database. The individual should possess a high school diploma with a minimum of 2 years’ experience, as well as a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Experience with VOIP, networking and email is a plus. This is a full-time hourly position with permanent status and fringe benefits. Starting pay will be approximately $15.60 – $27.00 an hour depending on experience and qualification levels. Benefits include, health/dental/vision/life insurance, retirement, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave. SCPDC is an EOE/AAE
