August 21, 2013 Metropolitan Planning Organization Comments Off on SCPDC shares Regional Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan

The SCPDC, through the initiatives of the Houma-Thibodaux MPO and the Regional Active Transportation Subcommittee members, recently adopted the South Central Regional Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. This plan highlights existing and proposed Bike and Pedestrian facilities in the Houma-Thibodaux urbanized area. It also includes regional projects from St. Charles, St. James, and St. John the Baptist parishes as well.

Planners, designers, law enforcement officers, public works personnel, roadway project managers, elected officials and bicycle groups from the six-Parish region provided their input during the process. Outreach groups such as AARP-Louisiana as well as Bayou Country CyclistsBike LouisianaBayou Runners Association are in support of this effort.
