South Central Planning and Development Commission (SCPDC) is requesting public input for the regional Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Plan. The goal of this plan is the reduction of bicycle and pedestrian related crashes, serious injuries and fatalities within our seven-parish area including Assumption, Lafourche, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Mary and Terrebonne parishes.
There are two ways you can participate.
TAKE OUR ONLINE SURVEY: SCPDC has launched a new interactive digital survey that you can take using your phone, tablet or computer. In as little as 5-minutes you can be part of the planning process telling us your thoughts on funding priorities, your habits & needs, and even use an interactive mapping tool to zoom in and tell us your safety concerns and/or where you might want to see a new sidewalk or bike path. The survey can be found by visiting our website at www.scpdc.org.
PARTICIPATE IN ONE OF OUR WORKSHOPS: The public is also invited to participate through a series of short, interactive workshops that will be held throughout the month June for St. James, St. John the Baptist and St. Mary parishes. If you miss the meetings or are unable to attend, please be sure to take the online survey mentioned above.
Both are designed to provide planners with needed local knowledge and expertise and provide opportunities for you to share safety concerns and potential solutions related to pedestrians and bicyclists in your neighborhood and throughout the region.
